Meeting with the Iranian ambassador, PM Shehbaz reiterates support
According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan is sympathetic to Iran because of the murder of innocent people.
In the face of increased regional tensions, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm condemnation of the recent Israeli action against Iran and pledged support for the Iranian government and people.
The PM made the comments on Monday while meeting Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, on the fringes of the International Maritime Expo and Conference in Islamabad.
He declared, “Iran has the sympathies of the entire Pakistani nation for the martyrdom of innocent people.”
In a recent phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, he mentioned that Pakistan reiterated its backing for Iran at the UN Security Council.
