Businessman Salman Farooqi attacked a young motorcyclist in front of his sister in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi.

The case involving the assault of a young man in the Defence area was heard by the City Court of Karachi on Saturday. The Gizri police provided a final report suggesting that the case be closed.

The police report filed under “C-Class” states that the complainant has decided not to press charges against the accused any further.

According to the report, the victim confirmed in writing that Suleman Farooqi did not mistreat him or his sister, and the case was the consequence of a misunderstanding.

The complainant has also submitted an affidavit stating that he does not wish to pursue legal action, the police added. The police dropped all charges, including the claims of life threats, based on the affidavit.

The hearing was postponed after the court accepted the police’s final report as part of the case file.
