In Mastung, two Levies officers protecting a polio squad were killed.
An anti-polio squad in Mastung was ambushed by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday, resulting in the martyrdom of two Levies officers.
According to authorities, the event happened in Mastung’s Kali Teri neighborhood, and the bodies have already been taken to a hospital.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, meanwhile, has harshly denounced the terrorist attack on the anti-polio squad.
In a statement, he expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Levies personnel deployed for the security of the team.
He declared that terrorists who cause harm to innocent people’s lives and property are enemies of mankind and will face consequences.
According to him, such occurrences cannot weaken the government’s resolve to eradicate polio nationwide.
He advised the population to maintain optimism and to make sure their children receive polio drops in order to safeguard their future. The premier reaffirmed the commitment to the anti-polio fight.
