Kamran Lashari steps down as the Walled City of Lahore Authority’s director general.

For personal reasons, Kamran Lashari has resigned from his position as director general of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA).

According to Lashari, serving in this role has been an immense honor and privilege, and he has submitted his resignation to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

He claimed that in order to draw in both domestic and foreign tourists, he carried out his duties with the utmost sincerity and with the drive to advance Pakistan’s image as a peaceful and culturally rich country.

The resignation letter stated, “However, I find myself unable to continue discharging the duties of this office due to personal reasons.”

According to sources, Lashari quit because he had concerns about the decision to give the Department of Archaeology back historical sites including Shalimar Gardens and Lahore Fort.

The sources also mentioned other possible explanations for his resignation, such as hosting marriage ceremonies at Lahore Fort without changing the 1950 regulations.
