India suspends the Indus Waters Treaty in response to the Pahalgam incident and requests the Pakistanis depart within 48 hours.

India announced the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan and the closing of the Attari checkpoint after a cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs also said during a news conference that all visas granted to Pakistani nationals would be revoked, and those who are already in India were told to depart within 48 hours.
The decision was made by the Indian government after 26 tourists were killed a day ago when militants opened fire on holidaymakers in Pahalgam, a well-known tourist resort in occupied Kashmir.
India has also stopped granting Pakistani nationals visas under the SAARC framework.
The representative added that Indian citizens living in Pakistan have until May 1 to repatriate through the Attari border crossing.
at addition, India recalled its own defense attaché from Pakistan and designated all military, naval, and aviation advisors at the Pakistani High Commission as “persona non grata.”
Seven days have been provided to all employees of Pakistan’s High Commission in India to return to Pakistan. Additionally, by May 1, India plans to reduce the number of its diplomatic personnel in Pakistan from 55 to 30.
It is important to note that India has continued its practice of making unfounded accusations against Pakistan whenever it encounters terrorism, and its propaganda apparatus has begun to spread claims that Islamabad was involved in the occupied Kashmir event.
Sources claim that the Indian media has been inflaming anti-Pakistan emotions with these unsupported accusations. In actuality, these charges are frequently planned and intended to incite animosity toward Pakistan. India constantly attempts to link terrorism to Muslims and Pakistan, despite the fact that terrorism has no religion.
Within half an hour of the Pahalgam attack, Indian social media accounts began tweeting with the hashtag #PakSponsoredTerror. Additionally, within 30 minutes of the occurrence, BJP leaders JP Nadda and Amit Shah tweeted about it, according to sources.
