No canal will be constructed without the provinces’ consent: Shah, Murad Ali

On Monday, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah declared that no new canal would be constructed in the nation without the provinces’ consent.
Murad Ali Shah told reporters following the Council of Common Interests meeting in Islamabad that provinces would not agree to build a new canal.

According to Murad Ali Shah, the Council of Common Interests meeting resolved that the Water Apportionment Accord of 1991 would be fully upheld and that the federal government will not begin any new canal projects without first consulting and obtaining province permission.
