A public holiday has been declared in Pakistan on May 1.

The government has announced a nationwide public holiday on May 1 (Wednesday) to commemorate Labour Day.

On this date, all governmental and private offices, educational institutions, and markets will be closed nationwide to commemorate the contributions of workers and labourers.

Labour Day is commemorated yearly in Pakistan as a representation of solidarity with the working class and to advocate for their rights and wellbeing.
