PM demands that farmers be given easy-to-repay agricultural loans.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered that farmers be given easy-to-repay agricultural loans and that agricultural research be prioritized in order to increase output.
While presiding over a meeting on changes to the agriculture sector in Islamabad, the PM delivered the directions. He has instructed the government to create a long-term, sustainable agro-industrial development program that will support forestry and agriculture while also assisting in the fight against climate change.
Additionally, he has demanded that provinces and other pertinent stakeholders be consulted in order to formulate a coordinated strategy for the agriculture sector.
According to PM Shehbaz, the government is working to modernize the agriculture industry in order to become self-sufficient.
“Pakistan is rich with fertile land, capable agricultural experts, and hardworking farmers,” he remarked, stressing the importance of harnessing the agriculture sector’s enormous potential for quick economic development.
For the agriculture industry, he also directed the relevant department to submit a National Agri-Innovation Plan.
In order to promote high-quality seeds, he has called for the development of an efficient action plan and the acceleration of existing reforms in the agricultural seed certification system.
The meeting also heard the proposal from the working group that was formed to overhaul the agriculture industry.
In addition to prominent government officials, federal ministers Musadik Malik, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahad Khan Cheema, and Rana Tanveer Hussain attended the conference.
