Israel and Iran agree to a cease-fire and Netanyahu supports Trump’s suggestion.

In a statement released Tuesday morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that his country had accepted US President Donald Trump’s proposed ceasefire.

Netanyahu had accepted the ceasefire because Israel had fulfilled all of its military objectives, according to the statement from his office.

“In Operation ‘Rising Lion,’ the State of Israel achieved monumental historical successes and placed itself in line with the great powers of the world,” said the statement.

The Israeli government has declared that the goals of its military assault, known as Operation Rising Lion, have been fully accomplished and formally affirmed its consent to the truce with Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement issued early Tuesday that Israel has effectively eliminated Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missile capabilities, which it regarded as two existential threats.

The statement said, “Israel has eliminated an immediate dual threat—both in the ballistic missile and nuclear domains.”

The Israeli government claims that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also destroyed dozens of important government buildings in the Iranian capital, severely damaged Iran’s military leadership, and gained total air control over Tehran.

Israel said that it had carried out major strikes deep inside Tehran in the last 24 hours, killing hundreds of Basij operatives, who are said to be part of Iran’s internal security and suppression forces, including a key Iranian nuclear scientist.

The Israeli government thanked US President Donald Trump and the US administration for their defense assistance and collaboration in destroying Iran’s nuclear threat.

“Following the achievement of our operational goals, and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel has agreed to his proposal for a bilateral ceasefire,” the statement continued.

Israel, meanwhile, threatened to react “forcefully” to any breach of the conditions of the ceasefire. Until complete adherence to the ceasefire is confirmed, Israelis have been asked to keep following the safety recommendations issued by Home Front Command.

Calling Operation Rising Lion a “tremendous success” that has safeguarded Israel’s future and improved its strategic status internationally, the statement came to a close.

Later today, Prime Minister Netanyahu is scheduled to speak to the country.
