Pakistan and the UAE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding visa exemption.

The 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) evaluated the entirety of bilateral relations and reached consensus on specific actions to enhance cooperation in trade, banking, investment, and other sectors.
The meeting, conducted in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Before the official proceedings, a working group meeting of the JMC convened, led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa and UAE Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh.
The Joint Ministerial Commission reached consensus on specific actions to enhance collaboration in culture, aviation, trains, energy, food security, climate change, defense, healthcare, human resources, higher education, and information technology.
Both parties underscored the importance of strengthening institutional frameworks and fostering inter-ministerial collaboration.
The event, conducted in an environment of mutual understanding and camaraderie, encompassed discussions on regional and worldwide trends.
Both parties reiterated their dedication to peace and stability in the region.
A protocol was signed, detailing procedural frameworks for follow-up actions, coordination via sectoral working groups, and facilitation of reciprocal visits.
Alongside the session protocol, Memoranda of Understanding regarding “Mutual Exemption of Entry Visa Requirements” and “Establishment of a Joint Task Force to Promote Investments,” as well as an Agreement on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy,” were executed.
Both sides conveyed contentment with the results and concurred to conduct the 13th Session of the JMC in Pakistan on mutually established dates.
The successful convening of the JMC session highlights the profound and complex relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, as well as their mutual goal for a vibrant and progressive alliance.
BPC
The second round of bilateral political consultations (BPC) between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took place in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, during which the comprehensive range of bilateral relations was examined, and both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhance cooperation across all sectors.
The parties deliberated on regional and global developments of shared interest and reaffirmed their dedication to improved cooperation and dialogue in multilateral venues.
The group from Pakistan was led by Shehryar Akbar Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary for the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the United Arab Emirates team was headed by Reem Ketait, Deputy Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, as stated by the Foreign Office Spokesperson in a press release.
The additional foreign secretary emphasized the necessity of further strengthening the robust fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE, founded on shared values, mutual respect, and common interests.
Both sides appreciated the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction on the progress made under existing institutional mechanisms, including the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) and regular leadership-level exchanges.
