According to the former CJS, the only path to enduring peace is the Kashmir solution.

According to retired Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed, a former chief of staff, Pakistan’s Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos has highlighted the importance of finding a settlement to the Kashmir dispute.

The retired army colonel told a Russian TV channel that it had once again demonstrated that the resolution of the Kashmir issue was crucial to regional peace.

He said that a truce resulted from Pakistan’s successful defense against Indian attack. He noted that all sides had shown guts and wisdom in reaching the ceasefire accord.

He lamented that after multiple ceasefires in the past, the Kashmir issue was still unresolved. According to him, it was deemed an international conflict by the UN in 1948, and only then could a peaceful future be achieved.

He said that the bombardment and missile exchange occurred within a 3,000-kilometer radius. According to him, the Indian army did not target any terrorist hideouts, but rather mosques and civilian areas.

Additionally, he accused India of failing to accept Pakistan’s request for an unbiased inquiry into the Pahalgam atrocity.

THE CEASEFIRE

According to U.S. President Donald Trump, a truce between India and Pakistan was reached “after a long night of talks mediated by the United States” on Saturday (yesterday).

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that Pakistan and India have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire,” Trump said on X (previously Twitter).

His remarks were made just hours after Pakistan retaliated against Indian targets in the early hours of Saturday, seemingly causing serious harm to India.

Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister of Pakistan, also verified the information. Dar stated on his X account that a truce has been agreed to by both nations with immediate effect.

He said that the international world was instrumental in achieving the ceasefire at 4:30 p.m.

Additionally, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio attested that he had discussed the need for peace with top Indian and Pakistani officials during the previous 48 hours.

Earlier, Pakistan launched Operation ‘Bunyan-un-Marsoos’ (Iron Wall) in response to Indian aggression and destroyed many military installations of the enemy.
