President Zardari expresses gratitude to the IMF for its ongoing support.

President Asif Ali Zardari convened with a group from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday to deliberate on Pakistan’s economic circumstances and the current IMF program. The mission was headed by Jihad Azour, Director of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department.

Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and other senior officials were also present during the meeting.

President Zardari recognized the IMF’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic stability throughout the debate. He observed that the current IMF program has been essential in facilitating the nation’s financial recovery and will contribute to more economic growth.

“The IMF program has been instrumental in stabilizing inflation, foreign exchange reserves, and the fiscal deficit,” stated members of the visiting group. They conveyed contentment with the advancement of Pakistan’s economic reforms and observed that the IMF program is progressing appropriately.

President Zardari expressed gratitude for the IMF’s ongoing support and acknowledged the international financial institution’s collaboration with Pakistan. He commended the Ministry of Finance and its team for their actions aimed at economic enhancement.

The summit underlined a shared commitment to ongoing partnership in enhancing Pakistan’s economy and maintaining reform momentum.
