Positive news for Pakistanis regarding Germany work visas

A new Consular Services Portal has been launched by the German Embassy in Islamabad to streamline and expedite the application procedure for Pakistani nationals seeking any kind of work visa.
The online system, available at digital.diplo.de/visa, will boost the number of visas processed and do away with waiting lists, the embassy said.
Applicants must fill out a questionnaire and upload the required papers for first screening as part of the portal’s shortened application procedure.
On its Facebook page, the embassy said, “This guarantees applications are ready before in-person appointments, expediting processes at the embassy.”
In order to pay the visa cost, provide biometric information, and confirm their identification, applicants must make an in-person appointment.
Numerous employment visa categories are covered by the new system, such as self-employment, EU Blue Card, Opportunity Card, skilled employment, and recognition of Pakistani degrees.
Noting that more visa categories would soon be moved to the system to increase efficiency, the German embassy encouraged individuals who have not yet been assigned an appointment to start their applications via the portal.
Separately, the German Consulate General in Karachi implemented a new visa appointment system that went into action right away.

Direct appointment scheduling is no longer available to candidates due to excessive demand. They must instead sign up for a waiting list, and appointments will be assigned later according to availability.
Pakistani nationals are now required to put their names on the waiting list.
This change impacts the process for scheduling appointments for Schengen and long-term visas (with the exception of the Opportunity Card/Chancenkarte), the Consulate said in a statement.
Through the appointment allocation procedures of the German Consulate, appointments for opportunity cards and Chancenkarte can still be made directly.
The Consulate clarified that candidates must first sign up for the waiting list. Appointments will then be given out chronologically according to the date of registration and available space.
“In order to effectively adjust the appointment allocation to the capacities of our visa office, a waiting list has been established due to the consistently high demand,” the statement read.
