Most of the country’s weather will continue to be hot and muggy: PMD

Tuesday is predicted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department to be another day of extreme heat and humidity in the majority of the country, with sporadic rain, wind, and thunderstorm activity in the higher and northern regions.

The forecast predicts that Sindh, most of Punjab, and Balochistan will see hot and muggy weather. While rain-wind/thundershowers are predicted in a few isolated areas, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir are expected to see some respite. During this time, isolated heavy falls are also possible.

The afternoon and evening hours in Islamabad, the federal capital, are predicted to be partly cloudy with rain, wind, and thunder. There is also a chance of localized, intense rains in the nearby areas.

Showers are expected in a number of districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Waziristan, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, and Tank. Heavy rainfall in the upper districts might cause urban floods in regions that are already at risk.

Punjab’s terrible heat and humidity will mostly persist. However, cities like Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Multan, as well as northern regions like Murree and Galiyat, may get sporadic showers.

In the meantime, Sindh will continue to have hot, muggy weather. Karachi and other coastal locations may get partially cloudy skies, but there won’t be any heavy rain.

The majority of the day in Balochistan will be hot and muggy, and in the evening and at night, there is a risk of rain and thunderstorms in Zhob, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Mo Si Khel.

Conditions in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will be partly cloudy, with isolated areas perhaps experiencing rain, wind, and thunderstorm activity. In Kashmir, isolated, powerful waterfalls can also be seen.

In locations that are prone to rain, residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, refrain from needless outdoor activities during periods of high heat, and exercise caution as localized floods or waterlogging may occur.
