The prime minister reiterates Pakistan’s intention to deepen its bilateral ties with the United Kingdom.

Pakistan’s intention to significantly improve relations with the United Kingdom in all areas, especially commerce, investment, education, and people-to-people interactions, was reiterated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday.

He was speaking with Lord Wajid Khan, the Under-Secretary of State for Faith, Communities, and Resettlement in the U.K. Parliament, who was paying him a courtesy call at PM House.

The prime minister praised Lord Wajid Khan for attending the Overseas Pakistanis Convention and welcomed him to Pakistan during the meeting.

The British Pakistani diaspora, he said, was proudly serving as a bridge between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, and the prime minister acknowledged their services.

He also sent his warmest regards to Prime Minister Keir Starmer and King Charles III.

The prime minister praised Lord Khan’s efforts to advance ties between Pakistan and the UK and look into potential new areas of cooperation.

During the meeting, Lord Wajid Khan gave the prime minister an update on his latest endeavours and projects to advance ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
