The Prime Minister guarantees comprehensive support to IT investors to establish Pakistan as a technology and innovation hub.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s aspiration to become a regional center for technology, finance, and innovation, pledging his government’s comprehensive support to IT investors and reaffirming the commitment to establishing enduring, mutually advantageous partnerships with them.
The prime minister, during a meeting with executives from prominent Information Technology companies participating in Pakistan’s inaugural ‘Digital Foreign Direct Investment Forum 2025’ on April 29-30, stated that Pakistan is poised for a transformative advancement in its digital economy.
He welcomed all investors and business executives in Islamabad, commending the announcement of almost US$700 million in investment promises during the forum’s opening session and expressing profound gratitude for their trust in Pakistan’s potential.
He informed the visiting delegates about the current regulatory reforms, financial incentives, and investments in digital infrastructure.
Prime Minister Shehbaz apprised the participants of his government’s current initiatives for youth training and economic digitization.
In his engagement with global IT executives, he expressed the Government of Pakistan’s robust intent to partner with them on AI and data science educational efforts to equip Pakistani young for future technology-oriented employment.
Among those who approached the prime minister were Jabbar Rahim Khan of Russoft, who pledged an investment of US$ 500 million; Taha Naseem and Ahsan Jamil of sAi Venture Capital, who committed US$ 100 million; Fernando Morillo and Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad of Mashreq Bank, who declared a US$ 30 million investment; and Belal Kemal Faruki of Mindhyve.ai, who announced a US$ 22 million investment.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister for Information Technology and Telecom, along with senior government officials, also participated in the meeting.
