Heatwave warning: Pakistan could reach a global temperature record this week.

The Washington Post has cautioned that Pakistan may experience a global temperature record this week due to a severe heatwave affecting South Asia.
The research indicates that temperatures in central and southern Pakistan may reach 50 degrees Celsius, nearing the maximum global temperatures recorded for this season.
The report noted that in April 2018, Nawabshah, Pakistan, registered a temperature of 50°C, one of the highest ever documented in Asia.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a period of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in several areas of the country, especially in the northern and central regions.
The rain event may occur from May 1 to May 4.
The department’s alert indicates a substantial decrease in temperatures anticipated at the onset of May, providing temporary respite from the escalating heat. The precipitation system is expected to produce thunderstorms and strong winds in multiple locations, with isolated hailstorms perhaps occurring in certain spots.
The PMD indicated that a westerly wave is anticipated to arrive in the northern regions of the country by the evening of April 30.
Rain is anticipated in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Islamabad, Jhelum, Sialkot, Lahore, Faisalabad, Mansehra, Kohat, Peshawar, and Gilgit-Baltistan due to its effect.
