Rainfall anticipated in Karachi commencing July 17

A sequence of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is anticipated in Karachi and other regions of Sindh from July 17 to July 21, attributed to a new monsoon system.
The Chief Meteorologist asserts that it is premature to forecast the system’s potential intensification or its capacity to cause urban flooding in low-lying regions without understanding the moisture it will accumulate from the sea.
The system may induce precipitation in rural areas, including Sanghar, Khairpur, Mirpurkhas, and Badin, with Tharparkar and Mithi likely to encounter significant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
Moist air is reportedly entering the country and is anticipated to intensify starting July 13. Consequently, a new western front is expected to arrive in the country by the evening of July 13.
During these meteorological conditions, various regions in Sindh, such as Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Hyderabad, are anticipated to encounter thunderstorms and precipitation with intermittent lulls from July 15-17.
