PTI spokesperson criticizes Adiala jail officials, inflation, and political persecution.

PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram has vehemently condemned Adiala Jail authorities for purportedly ignoring court directives, imploring the Chief Justice to promptly address what he termed a travesty of the justice system.
During a press conference, Waqas stated that Dr. Yasmin Rashid is experiencing maltreatment in custody due to her political opposition to Nawaz Sharif and is being denied necessary medical attention. He also emphasized the severe circumstances encountered by Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, and former Governor of Punjab, Umar Cheema.
Challenging the disqualification of Jamshed Dasti, Waqas alleged that the Election Commission sought to marginalize dissenting voices. He stated that PTI’s legal team is presently examining the issue.
Waqas observed that petrol prices have risen by 82% over the past 15 months, sugar prices have escalated to Rs 200 per kg, and overall living expenses have doubled. He attributed the sugar crisis to the government’s facilitation of exports, which resulted in artificial shortages and public exploitation.
“During the PTI administration, petrol was priced at Rs 150 and sugar at Rs 86 per kilogram.” Today, both have approximately doubled. “The middle class is being devastated by this inflation,” he stated, attributing it to policies that favor criminal organizations.
He concluded by asserting that there is no ambiguity regarding August 5, declaring it a definitive directive from the PTI founder, Imran Khan.
