In Muzaffarabad, funeral prayers were held for the martyred army officer.
Major Rab Nawaz was martyred during an operation against terrorists in Awaran, and his funeral prayer was delivered with full military honours.
The funeral was attended by senior military officials, political leaders, cabinet ministers, and the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Many civilians, along with military and civil authorities, gathered at the University College Ground to pay their respects after his body was transported from Allama Iqbal Neelum Bridge. Locals referred to Major Rab Nawaz as “Goshi” with affection.
“The nation is proud of Shaheed Major Rab Nawaz – we salute his sacrifice for the homeland,” Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the prime minister of AJK, stated.
He also paid rich tribute to Major Rab Nawaz, met with the martyr’s family, and offered heartfelt condolences.
He said that everyone in the country salutes Shaheed Major Rab Nawaz and is proud of his ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
The unparalleled sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces in the war against terrorism will never be forgotten, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq continued.
