Today, the Hungarian foreign minister will travel to Pakistan.

Today (Thursday), Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, will go to Islamabad for an official visit. A high-level business delegation will travel with him to investigate commercial prospects in Pakistan.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, a DPM’s Office news release said.

Besides one-on-one meeting, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, will have delegation-level talks with Foreign Minister Szijjártó. The two governments are concentrating on strengthening their cooperation in the areas of investment, commerce, energy, and the economy.

Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), an agreement on cooperation in the areas of archaeology and cultural heritage, the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic passports, and culture (2025–2027) will all be signed during the visit.

Foreign Minister Szijjártó, will also interact with other dignitaries. The goal of FM Szijjártó’s second trip to Pakistan is to provide a constructive boost to improved bilateral cooperation and a profitable economic partnership.

Pakistan attaches high importance to bilateral relations with Hungary, which have gained strength due to regular high-level exchanges and commonality of views on regional and international issues. The two nations’ diplomatic ties have been in place for 60 years this year. Since 1999, the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL has made successful investments in Pakistan, which is a significant sign of solid bilateral relations.
