Dar informs Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor on the intensifying regional tensions.

On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, engaged in a telephonic discussion with Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Md. Touhid Hossain, over the current security situation in South Asia.

In the discussion, the deputy prime minister informed the advisor about the intensifying regional tensions stemming from India’s baseless accusations and unilateral actions, including its capricious choice to suspend elements of the Indus Waters Treaty.

The foreign affairs adviser articulated apprehension about the prevailing circumstances and underscored the necessity for all parties to exercise restraint, highlighting the imperative for de-escalation.

Both parties reiterated their shared dedication to enhancing Pakistan-Bangladesh bilateral relations and underscored the necessity of sustaining regular high-level interactions.

They also deliberated on prospects to augment collaboration in regional and multilateral forums.
