Pakistan and Uzbekistan discuss the agenda for the forthcoming OIC meeting.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar engaged in a telephone dialogue with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The two leaders discussed a range of bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest, the Foreign Office said in a press release.

They discussed the agenda for the forthcoming meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), set to occur in Istanbul from July 21 to 22.

The two leaders concurred to convene during the OIC CFM’s sidelines.

On the preceding day, Dar got a phone call from the UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy. During the telephonic conversation, both the leaders expressed deep concerns over the fast deteriorating regional security situation in the wake of Iran-Israel conflict.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized the significant concerns to peace and stability in the region and beyond, arising from Israel’s unwarranted assaults on Iran, according to a news release from the DPM’s Office.

Both leaders emphasized the necessity of alleviating Iran-Israel tensions and averting further escalation.
