The Food Department cracks down on the Mafia of adulteration

Lahore: The district’s adulteration mafia was the target of a full-scale crackdown by the food safety teams at the direction of Muhammad Asim Javed, DG of the Punjab Food Authority.
A lactoscan machine was used to test milk, and 50 trucks carrying 6400 liters of milk were examined.
Dr. Muhammad Qasim Raza, Deputy Director of Operations, stated that combining ice and water increased the amount of milk. A fine of Rs 18,000 was levied for the subpar milk, and over 120 liters of tainted milk were destroyed.
A number of milk stores and milk collection facilities were raided by the food safety teams.
A grocery store was fined Rs 25,000 for failing a ghee sample according to the laboratory analysis report, while food points were fined Rs 35,000 for inadequate cleaning and storage practices and the lack of medical screening certificates of employees. Over 4 kg of expired products and over half a kg of open color were destroyed during the inspection.
