A Thai woman gives birth on an Air India Express in flight.
On an Air India Express aircraft from Muscat to Mumbai on Wednesday, a Thai national gave birth in midair in a unique and touching event. With the assistance of the airline’s skilled cabin staff and a nurse who just so happened to be on board, the unexpected delivery was made.
The cabin crew moved quickly to guarantee a peaceful and secure delivery environment, according to airline officials. The cockpit crew requested priority landing permission in Mumbai and promptly notified air traffic control. An ambulance and emergency medical personnel were stationed at the airport.
After landing, a female airline employee escorted the woman and her infant to a local hospital to continue to care for and support them.
The smooth collaboration between pilots, ground crew, medical responders, cabin crew, and airport authorities was praised by Air India Express. “This remarkable occasion demonstrates not only our team’s readiness but also the spirit of kindness and cooperation that characterises Air India Express,” the airline said in a statement.
