Following an increase in the price of petroleum, transporters raise fares.

Transporters nationwide have increased fares in response to the recent spike in the price of gasoline and diesel, further burdening the populace. The cost of intercity transportation has increased by up to Rs. 200.

According to the most recent fare adjustments, the price of the ticket from Lahore to Karachi has gone up from Rs. 5,200 to Rs. 5,400. The price for Sadiqabad has increased from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 3,150, and the price for Sukkur has increased from Rs. 3,250 to Rs. 3,400. The ticket price for Faisalabad has also gone up from Rs. 760 to Rs. 830.

In order to control fare adjustments and guarantee that the public is shielded from unjust increases, passengers have expressed their concerns and urged authorities to set up an adequate monitoring system at bus terminals.

“Strong action is being taken against transporters who impose excessive fare hikes beyond approved limits,” said the Regional Transport Authority Secretary.
