Due to the large number of birds near the Karachi airports during the monsoon season, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has advised pilots of all airlines to exercise extreme caution.

Due to the presence of birds near the airport during the rainy season, the authority has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) requesting that the airline crew exercise caution when taking off or landing. It stated that if a bird strikes an airplane, it could cause significant damage.

Pilots are urged to follow safety procedures when taking off or landing because hitting birds with airplanes could not only result in a catastrophic accident but also harm the jets involved.

Birds and planes colliding is not uncommon. Bird strikes have caused a number of plane crashes throughout history. A bird struck a plane in Karachi recently, causing it to jolt. A catastrophe was just barely avoided. Following the shock, many passengers broke down in tears and were frightened.
