Punjab has a medium-level flood due to monsoon rains, killing 143 people.

Punjab’s rivers and streams are more vulnerable to flooding as a result of the ongoing monsoon rainfall; Kalabagh and Chashma on the Indus River have experienced medium-level flooding.

A data sheet issued by the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) states that 488 people have been hurt and 143 people have died as a result of the recent monsoon rains in the province. According to the study, 121 animals have died and 200 homes have been destroyed.

Irfan Kathia, Director General of the PDMA, issued a warning about potential urban flooding in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, and Faisalabad. At strategic locations along the Indus, medium-level flooding has been noted, despite the Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum, and Sutlej rivers continuing to flow normally.

It is anticipated that the fourth wave of monsoon rains will last until July 25 and that further rainfall will fall in a number of districts, including Lahore and Rawalpindi.

In response to orders from the chief minister of Punjab, provincial authorities and pertinent ministries have been put on notice.

Residents, particularly those who live in low-lying areas, are urged to exercise caution and refrain from needless travel.
