CM Gandapur claims that there is no place for “good Taliban” in KP.

According to Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province has decided to eradicate the so-called “Good Taliban” from the area completely and would no longer put up with their presence.

Gandapur voiced serious worries about the security situation and federal policies during his remarks at the provincial All Parties Conference (APC) in Peshawar. He stated unequivocally that going forward, the province will not tolerate any form of military action.

“Today, I acknowledge that there are ‘Good Taliban’ in the province,” Gandapur stated. We have finally made the decision to eliminate them. Any individual or group found in possession of weapons in the name of any organisation will be dealt with right away. “Good Taliban” is a thing of the past and will never be accepted again.”

He denounced previous military actions, claiming they hurt the province and its citizens rather than producing any meaningful benefits.

He vehemently opposed drone strikes, saying they will no longer be permitted in civilian areas because they had killed innocent people.

Additionally, Gandapur claimed that the province will no longer tolerate the sponsorship of terrorist organisations known as the “Good Taliban” by certain official organisations. “They have to be eradicated and taken out of the province right away,” he declared.

To assist keep the peace locally, the APC made the decision to appoint 300 people to each tribal district’s police force.

The chief minister sent a strong message to the federal government, saying that while border security is the responsibility of the federal government, the provinces will assume control of security with their own police force if the federal government does not fulfil this obligation.

He also stressed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not cede its full control over its mineral riches to the federal government.

Additionally, he stated that the province administration would not back the centre on the subject of federal taxes being imposed on tribal territories.

Gandapur concluded by declaring that no federal force will be allowed to operate in the province without first taking the provincial government into confidence.
