In the police attack case, the court issues warrants for Shibli Faraz and demands the production of Imran Khan.

In relation to an alleged assault on Islamabad police officers stationed outside the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder’s Zaman Park mansion, a judge on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Senate opposition leader Shibli Faraz and mandated Imran Khan’s appearance in court on July 30.

PTI supporters and police clashed amid a heated confrontation outside the former prime minister’s house, leading to the case being filed at the Race Course police station.

Judicial Magistrate Sohail Rafiq heard the matter and rendered a written decision in this respect.

Since Imran Khan is being held at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, the magistrate ordered jail officials to make sure he showed up for the hearing at Cantt Kutchery in Lahore.

Proceedings were postponed until July 30 by the court.

The move comes after anti-terrorism courts (ATCs) recently sentenced seven key PTI leaders to 10 years in prison for their roles in the May 9, 2023 riots, which were triggered by Khan’s previous imprisonment.
