During the week ending July 18, 2025, “SBP reserves decreased by US$ 69 million to $14,456.6 million due to external debt repayments,” the central bank said Thursday in its weekly bulletin on liquid foreign reserves position.
However, the forex reserves breakdown indicates that during the period under examination, the commercial banks’ net foreign reserves climbed by $29.4 million to $5,460.9 million.
The nation’s total liquid foreign reserves as of the week ending July 11, 2025, were $19,957.1 million. These included $14,525.6 million in foreign reserves held by the central bank and $5,431.5 million held by the commercial banks.
