Aleema Khan goes to court to ask for Imran’s consent to sign a power of attorney.

Aleema Khan, the sister of Imran Khan, the former premier and founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who is currently incarcerated, has petitioned the court to allow Imran Khan to sign a power of attorney.

Aleema Khan has petitioned the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to return documents that were turned in at Adiala Jail after being signed by the PTI founder.

Aleema Khan submitted the application through Barrister Salman Safdar and additional attorneys. According to the petition, the PTI founder has the right to appeal the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) judgment to the Supreme Court (SC) after the LHC denied the bail applications.

The petition claims that in order to file an appeal with the SC, the PTI founder must sign the power of attorney. The attorneys had given the deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail the pertinent documents to sign, but the signed copies have not been given back.

Additionally, the petition notes that the time for contacting the SC is drawing near. The court is asked to authorize the signing of the power of attorney and order the jail administration to let the PTI founder sign it.
