Lahore continues to be the most polluted city due to its high pollution levels.

There was a major risk to public health as the city’s air quality index stayed at 303 points.

The air quality in Karachi, Peshawar, and Multan has been dangerous. Multan has 268 locations where the amount of particulate matter in the air has been measured. There are 215 points in Karachi and 230 points in Peshawar.

With the arrival of winter, Punjab’s air pollution levels skyrocketed. To keep smog in cities under control, authorities worked desperately. The province is suffering from extreme air pollution, which has escalated to terrifying levels that are significantly higher than what the World Health Organization considers hygienic. Air pollution is producing major health problems for the general populace.

As temperatures plummeted with cooler air, Lahore was engulfed in smog for days. Smog is a mixture of fog and pollutants brought on by low-grade diesel fumes and smoke from seasonal agricultural burning.

To protect the people from the harmful effects of hazardous pollutants and health problems, the government shuttered schools and modified the hours of restaurants, other businesses, and markets.
