PCB chairman wants Karachi stadium upgraded quickly
Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, visited the National Stadium Karachi during the final of the 9th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and expressed his discontent with the facilities.
During his visit, PCB’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer and the manager of the National Cricket Stadium provided him with a detailed overview of the amenities available to spectators at the stadium.
Naqvi examined multiple enclosures and boxes, and voiced discontent with the amenities offered in the stadium.
Mohsin Naqvi instructed the appropriate authorities to complete the upgrade plan and to promptly provide the highest quality playing surfaces for the international matches at National Stadium Karachi.
In addition, he issued instructions to improve and decorate the stadium building and its surrounding area, with the goal of creating a more visually attractive experience for fans. He also requested that the stadium be consistently and carefully maintained.
Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), also had a meeting with the groundsmen of the stadium and expressed his admiration for their diligent work in maintaining the grounds.
Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy in January 2025. Therefore, ongoing endeavors are being made to enhance the existing stadiums nationwide in order to fulfill the demands of this esteemed occasion.
Additionally, PCB is scheduled to organize a tri-nation cricket event in the upcoming year.
Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), convened a meeting with representatives from the cricket boards of South Africa and New Zealand in Dubai.
These discussions concluded with the finalization of preparations for a tri-nation cricket event that is set to occur in Pakistan in February 2025.
The competition, known as the Tri-Series, will include matches between Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand.
