The headquarters secretariat of PTI in Islamabad has been unsealed.
Omar Ayub, the general secretary of the PTI, visited the closed office with other party leaders to evaluate the circumstances. According to Ayub, there are crucial records and papers missing from the office. He further asserted that DVRs, PCs, and other devices had been taken away.
Ayub called for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad to investigate the occurrence, which he called “dacoity,” and to submit a report.
The PTI leaders thereafter obtained the crucial information regarding the assembly members. The opposition leader, Omar Ayub, has taken the signed affidavits of the assembly members into custody, but the party has regained them.
A day earlier, the PTI had promised to abide by building control regulations within a week after the order from the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which had directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to de-seal the party’s central secretariat.
The PTI Secretariat had been notified a day earlier, and on July 23, the Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) shut the building due to a violation of the 2010 Islamabad Building Standards for Fire Prevention and Life Safety.
After the Imran Khan-founded party consented to follow the city’s development authority’s building regulations, the IHC overturned the MCI’s July 22 order regarding sealing the PTI office.
In addition, the court ordered the political party to install preventative measures against fire at the location. Additionally, the IHC reported that the PTI and the city’s administration had agreed to put fire extinguishers on each floor of the structure.
