Flour prices in Islamabad drop by Rs. 10 to Rs. 20.
As flour prices in Islamabad have dropped by Rs. 10 to 20 per kilogramme, the benefits of the price decrease are beginning to trickle down to the general public.
Based on information obtained from the market, the cost of a 10 kg bag of flour was lowered by Rs270, from Rs1,470 to Rs1,200.
Fifteen kilogram bags of flour used to cost Rs2,250, but now they only cost Rs1,650, a reduction of Rs600. A 20 kg bag of flour used to cost Rs2,880, but now it only costs Rs2,250 on the market. This is a reduction of Rs630.
However, there has also been a reduction of up to Rs20 in the cost of both small and large bread. According to market sources, the cost of a large loaf of bread has decreased from Rs240 to Rs230 and Rs220, while a small loaf is currently available for Rs120, down from Rs120.
In addition, the cost of first-grade chakki flour has gone from Rs170 to Rs160 per kg, that of second-grade flour has dropped from Rs160 to Rs150 per kg, and the cost of chakki flour in Islamabad’s suburbs has declined from Rs150 to Rs140 per kg.
A few days ago, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour in Lahore dropped by Rs. 800 per kg. The cost of a 20 kilogram bag of flour was decreased in Lahore.from Rs.2800 to Rs.2000.
