Lahore’s pollution level rises to the top of the AQI list once more.

New Delhi, the capital of India, came in second place with an AQI of 478, while Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, continued to be the third most polluted city.

In terms of the nation’s air quality index, Lahore is at the top, Peshawar is at number two, Multan is at number three, Rawalpindi is at number four, Karachi is at number five, and Islamabad is at number six.

Since winter has arrived, Punjab has experienced extremely high levels of smog and air pollution. The provincial government worked desperately to keep the haze in the cities under control. The province is struggling with extreme air pollution, which has reached dangerous heights and is causing problems for public health.

For a number of days, Lahore was the most filthy city in the world, which prompted officials to take immediate action.

For days, Lahore has been engulfed in haze, a mixture of fog and pollution brought on by winter cooling, smoke from seasonal agricultural burning, and low-grade diesel fumes.

Lahore’s air pollution levels once skyrocketed to over 80 times the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommended threshold.

The government shut down schools and regulated the hours of restaurants, other establishments, and marketplaces to protect the people from the negative effects of harmful pollution and health issues.
