Power issue in Gilgit-Baltistan: Officials from the federal and GB governments convene today.
The federal and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) governments are set to convene on Wednesday to address the electricity situation in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The meeting will occur in the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Communication office. The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan will represent his administration regarding the electricity problem in the province.
The summit will address the enhancement of energy supplies to Gilgit-Baltistan and the alleviation of loadshedding.
Sources indicate that 10 MW of power has been integrated into the grid in GB over a brief span of 18 months under the current government of GB.
The GB government would advocate for the augmentation of electricity supply to Hunza and other regions during the summit.
Approval of additional electricity by the federal government during the meeting will assist in alleviating the electrical crisis in Hunza and other areas.
