Senators’ and ministers’ salaries were made public!
Ministers and MPs have been forced to speak out due to inflation; during the Senate session, which was headed by Senator Irfan Siddiqui, the Law Minister shared information regarding the pay and benefits of lawmakers.
Azam Nazeer Tarar, the minister of legislation, emphasized the discrepancy between the public’s image and the remuneration of MPs. He disclosed that lawmakers receive a salary of Rs. 156,000 and are not given government-issued cars.
Legislators are also allocated Rs8,000 to pay their utility bills, a number Tarar criticized for being insufficient to meet even the most basic living expenses.
95% of ministers do not claim their pay, despite the fact that their salaries are fixed at Rs 232,000, according to Tarar.
Ministers also have the right to a 1500cc car and 400 gallons of gasoline, but they are responsible for paying their own gas and electricity costs.
The Law Minister also discussed the infractions of news outlets that have been subject to fines and even closures on the subject of media regulations.
He underlined how crucial it is to show kids healthy information on TV in order to mitigate the harm that cell phones cause.
