Federal Minister of Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari announced on Sunday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon declare significant alleviation in electricity costs.

In “Tonight with Samar Abbas,” Leghari stated that electricity consumers would soon receive favorable news from the Prime Minister, asserting that the circular debt would be settled within the next six years and that no further charges would be imposed on consumers in this context.

The minister stated that, regarding the solar net monitoring policy implemented by the government, consumers would have incurred a cost of Rs3000 billion had the regulation not been enacted.

“The industry’s solar expenditure will be recouped within 1.5 years,” he stated.
